Emma Creative Cannon

Emma is a passionate printmaker who starts from hand-drawn images, then uses screen printing techniques to produce a range of innovative surface wall decorations, ranging from striking wallpaper to three-dimensional wall-art sculptures. The imagery in her work is often figurative and stylized, but at the same time abstract, with intriguing, layered, hidden sub-codes and texts within the flowing, exhuberant lines.

Emmas designs are flexible and can be translated onto many areas of design, from wallpaper, posters, murals and three dimensional wall hangings to ceramics, tiles and even book illustrations. Emma has completed numerous mural commissions, for the walls of clubs, bars and the homes, one for "Frames" nightclub and music venue, North Wales, where Emma project managed and executed large-scale interior murals for all walls.

Recently Emma has developed a way of combining Lino and Screen Printing to create 3D decoration for the wall. Emma hand sculpts into the lino to create a three dimensional surface. The use of lino has revealed completely new possibilities for creating art for public sites, indoors and outdoors and in any context. Using psychedelic patterns Emma hides and at the same time reveals the fairytale imagery within her designs.
